Who scored Villa's goal in their 1-0 win against Stoke City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Premier League season?

On the topic of Hause, Raza shared his views on the player.

He said: “Kortney Hause has not had enough first-team experience, in my opinion. When he gets a decent run in the side, he looks good to me. But, he’s a left-sided centre-back – he’s not a right-sided centre-back; that’s the thing with him. I think it’s really rare you ever see left-footed centre-backs playing that right-side centre-back role, actually.

“I think he’s pretty good with the ball. But I think what Kortney needs to sort out is: one, his positioning, which I think will get better with time. And two, he needs to stop passing the ball high up the pitch, because that’s not his skill.

“At the end of the day for me, Kortney Hause is the guy you bring in when Tyrone Mings isn’t fit. Other than that, you play [Ezri] Konsa at right centre-back or you play [Bjorn] Engels there. That’s not his position. And I think particularly he’s looked good in a back three. But I do take your point. We are shipping goals. So, that means that statistically, our defence isn’t up to standard.”

For his performance at Anfield, Hause earned himself a match rating of 6.25/10 (per WhoScored).

However, his overall performances in his 16 Premier League appearances for the Birmingham club this season has earned him a season rating of 6.84/10, making him Villa’s fifth-highest rated player for this campaign (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Despite the disappointing result and somewhat underwhelming performance at Anfield, Hause has still had a fairly decent season for Villa this year. If Hause can continue to get some playing time this season, it would could help his development as a player.
