On the most recent edition of The Express and Star’s Baggies Broadcast podcast, Joseph Masi, Matt Wilson, and Luke Hatfield discussed all things West Bromwich Albion following the Baggies’ successful promotion-winning 2019/20 campaign and Masi discussed the possibility of West Brom signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale during the show.

Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League in the 2019/20 season along with Norwich City and Watford. During the most recent edition of the Baggies Broadcast podcast, the panel spent some time talking about players from the Premier League’s relegated teams who they would like to see at The Hawthorns and Masi discussed the possibility of West Brom signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale during this portion of the show.

We will look at Marcelo Bielsa to kick off this quiz on the Championship's managers, which of these national teams has the Leeds United boss managed?

Masi said: “The one that’s quite interesting from Bournemouth, I don’t think it’ll happen, but it’s Aaron Ramsdale, the goalkeeper – he’s a Baggies fan.

“He’s done really well for them, but if you bought him, you’d be buying him for number-one and obviously I think Sam Johnstone deserves his shot in the Premier League, but it’s just an interesting tale that he’s a 22-year-old, very promising goalkeeper who, it turns out, is actually an Albion fan.”

TIF Thoughts…

Considering that £11.25m-rated Ramsdale, who was Bournemouth’s eighth-highest rated player in the Premier League last season, is a West Brom fan, according to Masi, it may be understandable why the reporter believes that the goalkeeper is “interesting” from a West Brom perspective following their promotion and Bournemouth’s relegation.

However, Masi did also declare that he doesn’t think this transfer will happen, going on to state that he believes current West Brom goalkeeper Johnstone “deserves his shot in the Premier League” and considering that Johnstone played more Championship minutes than any other West Brom player during their promotion-winning 2019/20 campaign, it may be understandable why Masi believes that he’s earned his opportunity to be West Brom’s number one in the top-flight.
