Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

The Athletic reporter spent quite a bit of time discussing Leeds’ promotion bid amongst other topics, and when asked if he thinks that the Whites will be promoted, he sounded confident, prior to the team’s clash with Barnsley on Thursday evening.

Here is what Hay had to say on Leeds’ promotion chances when asked if this will be the time that the Whites are finally promoted.

“I think it is, I think the players think it is, I think [Marcelo] Bielsa’s coaching staff think it is.

“I don’t know what he’s feeling deep down, Bielsa, and it seems to me that he’s got a very, very healthy level of paranoia, which will probably preclude him from even remotely thinking that it’s done and dusted.

“We’re at the stage now where it’s a maximum of four points needed from the last three; you couldn’t ask for it to be any easier.”

It seems as if Hay is very confident that Leeds will get the job done this season, although he doesn’t think Bielsa will be celebrating just yet.

Do you agree with Hay?

TIF Thoughts…

Heading into tonight’s game, the Whites were three points clear of third place with three matches to play.

They are in a great position, and if they can beat Barnsley, then the Whites will be a maximum of a point away from a return to the Premier League.

Bielsa saw his side finish third last season and then lose in the play-off semi-finals to Derby County, but he has regrouped his side and seen them rise to the top of the table.

Hay thinks they can do it, and he believes that the players also think that they can achieve promotion – so it is now down to them to finish the job.
