Speaking recently on The Square Ball podcast, Michael Normanton has praised Brentford winger Said Benrahma, amidst Leeds United links with the Algerian.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

This season, Benrahma particularly impressed, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists over his 45 appearances in the Championship, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.51, ranking him as the league’s best player this term, as well as helping his side to reach the Championship’s play-off final.

As a result of these fine performances, the winger has been linked with a summer move to the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham United as well as Leeds.

And, speaking on The Square Ball podcast, Michael Normanton recently claimed that he would like to see Benrahma make the move to Elland Road this summer.

He said: “He looks very good from what I’ve seen. Bit of a diver, but I’ll allow it [if he were to play] for Leeds. And that’s how football works.”

TIF Thoughts…

Benrahma certainly has shot to stardom in his time with Brentford, having bounced around on numerous loan deals while at Nice, making just 18 appearances for the Ligue 1 side’s first-team, in which he scored three goals and provided three assists, before making his move to West London.

However, the £9.45 million-rated winger has proven this season that he deserves a crack at the Premier League, and, should Brentford fail to and win their play-off final, it would not be surprising to see Benrahma make a move this summer to ensure he is playing top-flight football next term.
