Sheffield Wednesday-focused Twitter account @TheStarOwls recently posted a tweet that included a link to an article from The Sheffield Star which shares some alleged transfer news regarding Owls duo Steven Fletcher and Morgan Fox.

This article from The Sheffield Star claims that this duo, both of whom are set to see their Owls contracts expire at the end of June at present, are attracting plenty of interest from other clubs. This report from The Sheffield Star cites TEAMtalk as the original source of this news regarding Fletcher and Fox. This comes after TEAMtalk recently published an article claiming that the Owls are struggling to agree on new deals with these two players.

A lot of Wednesday supporters have been responding to @TheStarOwls’ tweet sharing this alleged news.

Some Owls supporters have shared that they aren’t too concerned about losing these two players.

However, some Wednesday fans appear to be worried about losing Fletcher, with one Owls fan stating that they “really hope” the 33-year-old forward stays at Hillsborough.

Fletcher has been one of the Owls’ most significant players throughout the 2019/20 campaign. He is currently Wednesday’s top goalscorer in the Championship, having netted on 13 occasions in the league this term, which is eight more times than any other Owls player.

Meanwhile, Fox has earned an average overall rating of 6.81 for his Championship performances this season according to WhoScored, which ranks him as the Owls’ joint-seventh highest rated player in the league this term.

It may be fair to say that these two players have been two of Wednesday’s best performers this season and it may hurt the team to lose them both at the end of their contracts.
