Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to slam midfielder Kalvin Phillips’ latest performance.
This comes after Phillips put in a poor display during Leeds’ 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City at the weekend.
After the match had ended, many Leeds fans went over to Twitter to share their criticisms of the 24-year-old.
Here’s a sample of Leeds fans slamming Phillips:
Nobody will ever convince me that Kalvin Phillips is a future England international. The man is 25 next and still making stupid mistakes against dreadful Championship sides, then seconds later making silly challenges. Think I saw 80% of his set pieces his first man too. #lufc

In the first half of the match, Phillips misplaced a pass that eventually ended with Cardiff attacker Junior Hoilett scoring the first goal of the game against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Phillips – 5. Costly first mistake. Looked like he might lose his head and get sent off.
Costa – 5. A few decent runs, but not much else. Wasteful.

As Leeds eventually fell to a 2-0 defeat, Phillips’ performance in the game ended with him being given a match rating of 6.84/10 (per WhoScored).

Aside from this latest performance against Cardiff, Phillips has had an impressive season at Elland Road this year. His performances in his 32 Championship appearances so far have earned him a season rating of 7.19/10, which can only be bettered by Luke Ayling in this campaign (per WhoScored).

Now that Phillips has completed his first appearance for Leeds since the season resumed after being on a temporary suspension due to the pandemic, many Leeds fans were not happy with how he returned to action for his side.

It’s clear looking at these replies from this bunch of Leeds fans that they are not happy with Phillips’ display against Cardiff.
Their reaction is understandable considering how impressive the midfielder has been for Bielsa this season.
These Leeds fans will now be hoping that this latest performance from Phillips will just be a one-off and he can get back to the usual form that he had shown earlier in the season.
With Leeds set to take on third-placed Fulham in their next Championship fixture, Phillips will need to step up his performance and try to not make any more calamitous errors that could lead to conceding a goal.
