Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news surrounding the return of the Championship. 

This comes after Leeds journalist Phil Hay shared a post on Twitter quote-tweeting a post from the Championship’s official account.

The tweet contained a link to a statement made by the EFL revealing that the Championship will resume on the weekend of June 20 and that it will finish on July 21/22.

The statement also revealed that the play-off final will now take place within the first week of August.

Before the current season was temporarily suspended due to the impact of the viral outbreak back in March, Marcelo Bielsa’s side were on a tremendous run of form, having won their previous five league matches, resulting in them landing at of the Championship table on 71 points (per BBC Sport).

Now that Hay has relayed this news from the EFL on his official Twitter page, this sparked a big reaction from Leeds fans.

It’s good for these Leeds fans that they know more details about when their season in the Championship will resume once again.

The best thing Leeds fans can hope for now is that their team win promotion back to the English top flight as quickly as possible and see the season out in style.
