One Leeds fan suggested that they wouldn’t want Ayala at the club after he reportedly refused to play for his current club.

Overall, Ayala has made a total of 216 appearances for Middlesbrough in which he has managed to score 23 goals and provide seven assists (per Transfermarkt).

This season, in particular, has seen Ayala make 25 appearances for Middlesbrough but has not featured for the club since January (per Transfermarkt).

However, Ayala has impressed for the club with his performances in the Championship, resulting in the defender being given a season rating of 6.92/10, making him the joint-highest-rated player for Middlesbrough in this campaign (per WhoScored).
