Some Celtic fans have been raving at the latest comments from Leigh Griffiths that recently emerged on social media.
The Hoops striker was recently talking to Superscoreboard in an interview in which he discussed the club’s recent title win. The Scotsman said that anyone who is taking the shine off the Hoops’ title win is ‘deluded’. Griffiths also said that the upcoming season is the ‘biggest’ in Celtic’s history as winning the title will hand them a 10th Premiership title in a row. He also said that winning the title next season will allow players to go down in the club’s history books.
Superscoreboard relayed this tweet on social media and it caught the attention of many Celtic fans. Many of them loved what the striker had to say, with one suggesting he attempted a sly dig at Celtic’s rivals.
He also said tainted titles are when someone has cheated.

Griffiths was crucial in the 2019/20 season for the Hoops. He played 31 games in all competitions, appearing in 21 Premiership games. He scored nine league goals, with seven of them coming since the turn of the year, including a hat-trick against St. Mirren (via Transfermarkt).

All of these Celtic fans seem delighted by what Griffiths had to say. It comes after former Rangers defender Gareth McAuley had written about the club’s title win in his column for the Belfast Telegraph. He had said that the club’s recent title win is ‘tainted’ and ‘hollow’ and that he feels ‘sorry’ for the Celtic players.
Griffiths’ comments seem to be an attempt to silence any doubters. That is one big reason why Celtic fans loved what he said and they can only hope that the club win the Premiership next season and reach title number 10.
