Some Celtic fans have been talking about Craig Gordon after a post involving the goalkeeper caught their attention on Twitter.
It was recently reported by the Scottish Sun that Premiership side St. Mirren are interested in securing the services of Gordon and they’ve made an offer for the goalkeeper already. The club’s manager Jim Goodwin has assured the fact that Gordon will get first-team football at St. Mirren. Despite the Hoops having offered Gordon a new contract, he is currently considering his future.
With this in mind, Hoops-related page CelticGossip recently posted about Gordon. The post described Gordon to be a ‘wonderful servant’ for the Hoops but said that it is surprising that he has been offered a new deal by Celtic.
This caught the attention of many Celtic fans. Some of them had words of praise for the goalkeeper.
The guys been outstanding for Celtic, his distribution from feet apart, the least he deserves is to be here for the 10!

Are Celtic right to offer Gordon a new contract?
Yes, its the right decision!
No, he should leave
I’d like him to stay. He never let us down and although he’s getting on not many clubs could have as good a back up keeper as him. We all want Forster to be number 1 but Gordon as back up would be great.

Not a bad gk and experience will be crucial for the 10, im assuming he is going to be no2 i really hope we aren’t going to be daft enough not to sign Forster ???

Gordon has made only six first-team appearances for the Hoops this season. He didn’t make an appearance in the Premiership but he has kept three clean sheets in the six games that he has played (via Transfermarkt).
The post also attracted some Celtic fans who thought that Gordon should be moved on by the club soon.
Definitely time he moved on

These Celtic fans don’t seem too pleased by the fact that Gordon has reportedly been offered a new contract. The Daily Mail (via Daily Record) have reported that the Hoops are currently looking to sign Fraser Forster on another loan deal. The club already have Scott Bain at the club.
With Gordon not getting the first-team football he might need, making a move to get that makes sense. He is 37 and playing more in the last few years of his career might help him. So a potential transfer to St. Mirren could prove to be a good option for the goalkeeper.
