Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest update that the club issued on social media recently.
The club’s shared a statement on Twitter, welcoming the steps taken by the SPFL and Sky to agree terms to offer virtual season tickets to fans. This agreement will see clubs have a virtual season ticket policy from the 2020/21 season onwards, which will allow Sky Sports and the clubs to broadcast Premiership games that cannot be attended by fans.
Celtic’s statement said that the club want to ‘cater’ to the needs of the club’s fans and that the proposals are ‘great news’. After sharing the statement online, this tweet caught the attention of many Celtic fans. Many of them weren’t happy with this update.
Absolutely disgraceful. Holding supporters to ransom because we are going for ten. Reduce the prices of the books is clearly the only option here. Can’t expect us to pay £500+ to stream games.

Are Celtic right to back this agreement?
No, it is nonsense
They're doing the right thing
Not really ideal for anyone. ST holders paying hundreds to watch on TV. Even if it was made available non ST holders, who is going to pay £££ to watch via Celtic TV? Very few I would expect. The online platform better be upgraded as it has been extremely bad in recent years.

The statement from the club revealed that Celtic will be providing further details about this in the next few days. It was also said that the fans who bought season tickets for next season will have access to virtual season tickets.
But the Celtic fans really seem concerned by this latest development, while others have also made their displeasure very clear.
What a shambles

Why only to season ticket holders, surely everyone who is willing to pay should be able to get one of these,if only while the stadium is closed to spectators.

The main concern for these fans is that the games can only be watched by those who have bought a virtual season ticket. Unlike how things are run on a normal matchday, it restricts how many people that are eligible to watch Premiership games live. Those who don’t have the virtual season ticket will not be able to stream these games, as a result. In that way, it makes perfect sense for Celtic fans to be concerned about this.
