Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving the fact that the Hoops are drawing plans to accommodate crowds at Parkhead next season.
The Daily Mail recently reported that the Hoops are now ‘drawing up’ plans to accommodate 30,000 spectators at Celtic Park by the end of August. The report states that the club’s plans come after Scottish Government confirmed plans to allow live outdoor events to go ahead with social distancing from the 23rd of July (via the Daily Mail).
Journalist Stephen McGowan relayed this update on social media and this caught the attention of many Celtic fans. Some of them don’t believe the news one bit.
Not going to happen unfortunately

Do you think fans will be allowed at Parkhead by the end of August?
That's impossible
Yes, it will happen
Not gonna happen.

Fake news!!! Celtic have a season ticket deadline. Even at one meter Celtic are not going to be able to accommodate that number.

Ouch ticket sales must be lower than even the board expected. This is floating pitch super casino levels of unlikely.

While some fans don’t see the plan working out, one fan relates this to the club’s sale of tickets. He believes that allowing fans at Parkhead could be a sign of the fact that enough tickets aren’t being sold by the club.
A couple of Hoops fans also aired their thoughts, saying that this plan can’t go ahead at this point.
Can’t see how they can do that. They can’t pick and choose what season ticket holders get to go to what games!!! I’d rather wait til we can all go back together safely ?

100%. It’s honestly a disgrace to even mention numbers like that when they have absolutely no chance of happening

The report reveals that the SPFL has scheduled 1st of August as a provisional date for the start of the 2020/21 Premiership season and games are initially expected to be played behind closed doors (via Daily Mail).
The SPFL and Sky Sports have already reached an agreement to offer virtual season tickets to fans and this would allow fans to watch matches of their clubs from their homes. This could already be a sign of how the SPFL is prepared to see clubs play games behind closed doors in the 2020/21 season (via The Scotsman).
So the latest update is very interesting, considering the virtual season ticket system is already in place. But whatever happens, the authorities have to make sure that all of this takes place in a safe environment. They shouldn’t restart unless things are risk-free as they have the virtual season ticket system to fall back on anyway.
