Many Celtic fans have been talking about the club’s former manager Gordon Strachan after a post about him caught their attention.
The Celtic Twitter account recently posted about the ex-Hoops boss, saying that Strachan was appointed as the club’s manager on the 1st of June 15 years ago, reminding fans that Strachan had gone on to win three Premiership titles as Hoops manager.
Many Celtic fans flocked to this tweet. They made their admiration for Strachan very clear – with some saying that he doesn’t get enough credit.
Brilliant manager for us and never says a bad word about the club. ?

Does Strachan deserve more credit for his time at Celtic?
Yes, he deserves more
Not for me
I think the wee man was under appreciated in his time at Celtic including me, it’s only now I realise what a great job he done. Even now he’s never a bad word to say about us, unlike a lot of ex Celtic people who got brought up supporting us and queuing up to have a go. pic.twitter.com/7ARePt4A3r

Strachan was appointed as the Celtic manager back in June 2005 and stayed at Parkhead until 2009. Before that, he had managed the likes of Southampton and Coventry City. Following his time at Celtic, he went on to manage Middlesbrough and the Scottish national team (via Transfermarkt).
Many more Celtic fans rushed to this post. They also had high praise for Strachan and for what he did as the Celtic manager. One even said that he was not treated well while he was the manager of the Scotland national team.
can’t say i was impressed at his appointment, but he didn’t take long to win me over.

Done a superb job, very underated/unliked by a lot of fans, i don’t get it it. The weeman was superb for Scotland also and was our best chance of ever getting to a major tournament again imo.

Strachan did end up winning quite a few trophies at Parkhead. He won three Premiership titles as well as two League Cup titles. He also won a single Scottish Cup title with the club. Those are the only major trophies he has won in his managerial career (as per Transfermarkt).
This shows that he indeed deserves respect for whatever he won at the club, while it is good to see that Celtic fans still remember him fondly.
