Supporters of Celtic have been flocking to a Twitter post which was shared to social media by former Hoops player Chris Sutton.
On Monday, it was revealed that Jonny Hayes was set to leave the Hoops and re-sign for his former club Aberdeen (per BBC).
Sutton aired his opinion on the transfer in his recent tweet, stating that he was ‘surprised’ that the Parkhead club had let go of the 32-year-old (per Chris Sutton).
He said: ‘Surprised Celtic didn’t hold on to him but good luck to Jonny Hayes on his return to Aberdeen… Always gave his all in a Celtic jersey and never let the team down. Decent business for Aberdeen.’
Lots of the Celtic Park faithful then flocked to this post to have their say on the transfer.

A+ for effort but didn’t make a massive impact. What’s the bets he goes back to Aberdeen and starts scoring lol? ?

Spot on, wish we had kept him, put the team always first. Good Luck, except when playing us. ?

The right midfielder signed for the Hoops in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £1.32m from the club that he has now agreed to re-join (per Transfermarkt).
Sad to see him go. I wish him all the very best for the future.

He might come back to haunt us, it happens, Gordon probs going to hearts great goalie, it shows you the farce in the Premier. Southampton get beat 9-0 and they have one of the best goalies in the world on there books, and they don’t play him, the manager could no run a pub team

During his three seasons with the club, Hayes made 68 appearances for the Hoops in all competitions (per Transfermarkt).
His returns, though, were not poor but certainly not inspiring as he bagged just two goals and seven assists over those 68 appearances, which clearly convinced many fans of his abilities.
Was letting Jonny Hayes go back to Aberdeen a mistake by the Hoops?Yes, should've stayedNo, not good enough |
Yes. One of my favourite players. Sad.

Other Celtic supporters aired that they had not been as impressed by the Irishman, though.
He wasn’t good enough for Celtic. Aberdeen is he true level.

However, as can be seen in most of the responses from the Celtic Park faithful, they believe that the club should have looked to keep hold of the right midfielder.
