Premiership champions Celtic are said to be ‘waiting’ for the right offers to be made for their striker Odsonne Edouard.

Football journalist Alan Nixon recently issued an update about the situation of Edouard. On Twitter, Nixon responded to a Celtic fan’s question about the club’s stance on transfers. When talking about Edouard, Nixon revealed that the Hoops are currently ‘waiting’ on any potential offers for the striker. He said that the club are looking for the ‘right offer’ for the former Paris Saint-Germain man.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

While this update from Nixon may not sound promising to Celtic fans, this comes after Neil Lennon has already confirmed that the club are in talks to hand him a new contract. Lennon had revealed that Edouard’s representatives are talking to the club about extending his stay at Parkhead.

Do you think Edouard will get sold in the summer?

Yeah, he'll leave

He's staying!

TIF Thoughts…

Edouard has previously been linked with a move to Leicester City and Arsenal. French side AS Monaco had an offer for the striker rejected back in January, while Newcastle United have also been linked.

This shows that Edouard is attracting attention from many clubs already. Considering how he won the club’s Player of the Year award by scoring 27 times in all competitions, it isn’t a surprise that clubs are looking at the chance of signing him.

This is also a reflection of how crucial a player Edouard is for Celtic and why he will be key to helping them win the tenth Premiership title in a row next season. While Nixon’s update is alarming, Celtic fans should hope that Edouard signs a new deal and stays for at least another season.
