Craig Gordon has confirmed that he is set to have some ‘more talks’ with Celtic in a bid to sort out his future.

Gordon was recently talking to The Scottish Sun in an exclusive interview and the future of his career was the main topic of discussion. The goalkeeper confirmed that his contract with the Hoops has run out, but he also revealed that Celtic need to ‘come back with something better’ if they want to keep him at the club.

Starting with an easy one: which Italian club did Nakamura join Celtic from?

The former Sunderland keeper also said that St. Mirren have made an offer, but he also claimed that he will have ‘more talks’ with Celtic later on.

It has been reported in recent days that Gordon has rejected a new contract offer from the Hoops. The same report had also claimed that Neil Lennon wants to keep Gordon at Celtic Park.

Does it make sense for Celtic to keep Gordon?

TIF Thoughts…

Gordon’s future is clearly uncertain and he too has no clear idea about where he will be next season. The 2019-20 season saw the goalkeeper make only six appearances in all competitions. He didn’t play a single minute in the Premiership, but made three Europa League appearances for the Bhoys.

This suggests that Gordon was far from being a regular at Celtic. He is currently 37 and he might like to get some regular first-team football in the last few years of his career. With Celtic currently said to be working on a deal to keep Fraser Forster at Parkhead, Gordon may not get regular football next season as well.

So in that sense, moving away from the Glasgow club could be a wise decision for the former Hearts man.
