Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been reacting to a transfer link that has emerged between the Old Gold and Sporting CP’s Rodrigo Fernandes.

According to O Jogo, as cited by Sport Witness, Wolves are interested in signing the 19-year-old talent and there have been ‘conversations’ over a supposed move.

As stated in the report, Fernandes is represented by Jorge Mendes’ agency Gestifute.

Despite the transfer rumour having been based on ‘conversations’, it is reportedly understood that there are figures on the table and the transfer could cost Wolves around €10-12million (£8.9-10.7m).

While the youngster is highly regarded by his club in Lisbon, the report states that the Liga NOS outfit would welcome the cash as they need to bring in some money.

The Portuguese midfielder has made only four first-team appearances for Sporting during his career in which he has neither scored nor assisted (per Transfermarkt).

Fernandes has, however, represented his country at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level on multiple occasions.

So, after the report was shared with Wolves supporters on social media (via @TalkingWolves), fans aired their feelings on the transfer link.

To start easy with this quiz on Wolves kits, which brand is the current kit maker of the Old Gold's kits?

While Fernandes has only made four first-team appearances for Sporting during his career, all of those have come this season with two in the league and two in the Europa League (per Transfermarkt).

However, in those four appearances this season, the 19-year-old’s average ratings make for grim reading despite the player reportedly being highly thought of in Lisbon.

During his two appearances in the league, a 6.19/10 average rating has made him the fourth-worst performer for Sporting and in the Europa League, a 6.03/10 average rating has made him the club’s worst-performing player (per WhoScored).

Would the signing of Rodrigo Fernandes at around the £9million mark be a good idea?
