Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been reacting to the latest transfer report on the Old Gold’s link with SL Benfica’s Carlos Vinicius.
According to Record, as cited by Sport Witness, Nuno Espirito Santo’s outfit has seen a bid rejected for the Brazilian.
As stated in the report, Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has stated that he rejected a bid of €60m (£53.9m) for the striker in January and it is believed that the bid was from the Old Gold.
The report goes on to state that the touted transfer offer from Wolves is still on the table for Vinicius as they are willing to pay that much for the Brazilian.
Record also states that the player has a release clause of €100m (£89.8m) in his contract, which has led Benfica’s club president to believe that they could get that much for him if not for the current global outbreak.
There are no claims that Wolves would raise their offer to match the €100m release clause in his contract, however.
So, after the report was shared to fans of the Old Gold on social media (via @TalkingWolves), many supporters shared their opinions on the transfer rumour.

This season, the 25-year-old frontman has bagged a stellar 15 goals and four assists over 22 Liga NOS appearances (per WhoScored).
However, Wolves fans were extremely sceptical on the touted figures.

Despite his impressive goal tally, Vinicius has only been the seventh-best performer for Benfica in the league so far this season.
However, his average rating is still impressive at 7.21/10 and the same rating for Wolves in the Premier League would make him the Old Gold’s fourth-best performer (per WhoScored).
Do you believe that Wolves offered the touted fee during the January transfer window?Yes, anything is possibleNo, it's far too much |
I can’t see this being true it’s more like agents trying to get the big boys to make a move for him

While many fans were in disbelief, some other Wolves supporters were more trusting of the figures in Record’s report.

As can be seen in the response from the Molineux faithful, while some trusted the report, many did not believe the supposed figure Wolves are willing to offer.
