Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been gushing over footage of Daniel Podence which was posted to the Old Gold’s Twitter account.
On Sunday afternoon, the Molineux club relayed the footage of the Portuguese attacker which was recorded at Compton Park (per Wolves).
In the footage, the first-team are playing a training match and following a sweeping move down the left-hand side of the pitch, the 24-year-old is left with a shot at goal.
Despite being under pressure from Willy Boly and there being another defender between the attacker and the goal, Podence produces a tidy finish.
The Portuguese 24-year-old has been situated in the Midlands since the January transfer window; with the attacker having arrived from Olympiakos for £16.6 million (per BBC).
At the time of his arrival from Greece, Podence signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Old Gold, meaning that he will be situated at Molineux until 2024.
So, after the club relayed the footage of the Portuguese attacker, supporters proceeded to gush over their 24-year-old winger.
Sharp finishing from Daniel Podence!

While his talents seemed impressive in the footage, Podence is yet to make his mark in the Premier League as he has made just four substitute appearances in the league under Nuno Espirito Santo (per WhoScored).
Fans were undeterred from their praise, though.
Is Daniel Podence going to be a special player for the Old Gold next season?Yes, he has potentialNo, he's not good enough |
Smoked Boly with his speed. I think he’s going to be great next season ?

I can’t wait to see him feature in a run of games…Still like a new signing and bags of ability. Easy to forget we have such a talent. Exciting! ? ?

Despite fans’ high praise, a 6.13 average rating in his four substitute appearances for the Old Gold makes for slightly grim reading (per WhoScored).
Furthermore, the weak average rating has made the 24-year-old winger the worst-performing player to feature for Wolves in the Premier League this season.

While the majority of Wolves fans gushed over the footage of Podence, others were not that convinced of the 24-year-old’s talents, though.
Yeah, training is pressure free, once it’s the match, pressure hits and all those fancy training tricks don’t work as well. Lol

As can be seen in the responses from the majority of Wolves fans, though, they are excited about the potential that the former Olympiakos man has.
