There has reportedly been an interest in taking over West Ham United registered ‘in recent weeks’.

According to the Daily Mail, there has been interest from a ‘high-powered United Arab Emirates group’ in purchasing the London Stadium outfit.

However, the club has insisted that there is no takeover of the Hammers imminent.

To start this quiz on Mark Noble with a tough one, in what year did the midfielder make his league debut for the Hammers?

The report from the Daily Mail came just days after the same website stated that West Ham director Tripp Smith is forming a US consortium with a view to taking over the Irons (per Daily Mail).

In that same report, it was stated that a ‘group from the Middle East’ is eyeing the club but nothing further was revealed.

However, the latest article revealed that the group was from the United Arab Emirates and they have gone as far as registering interest.

TIF Thoughts…

David Gold and David Sullivan took over the London outfit in 2010 when they acquired 50% of the club (per The Guardian); they later took their ownership to over 85% (per Football.london).

In their ten years in charge of the club, there have been eight managerial stints (per Soccer Base) and the Hammers have only finished above 10th in the Premier League once (per Transfermarkt).

Which of the two would you rather took over West Ham United?

Furthermore, fan protests have been rife and there is seemingly a growing resentment between the Irons’ fanbase and its hierarchy (per BBC).

So, if there is any truth to the supposed interest from either the US consortium or from the United Arab Emirates, the club’s lack of progress and supporters’ discontent should be food for thought for the current ownership.
