West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has been discussing a potential take over of the Hammers.

A recent article from the Daily Mail revealed that West Ham director Tripp Smith is putting together a US consortium with a view to purchasing the club from David Gold and David Sullivan.

A later article from the Daily Mail went on to reveal that there had also been interest from ‘a high-powered United Arab Emirates group’ recently.

So, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee discussed what may be going on behind the scenes regarding a takeover.

To start this quiz on Mark Noble with a tough one, in what year did the midfielder make his league debut for the Hammers?

He said: “I think behind the scenes, there are a few people that are doing some talking, Tripp being that person, and trying to see if he can drum up any interest.

“There’ll be other people out there that are looking at Premier League teams and thinking, West Ham, potentially with the stadium and various other factors, are good to buy.

“But, at the moment, because of the uncertainty on the club, the division, the value of the club, the players, the assets, I don’t think there’s anything seriously there to consider at the moment.

“Maybe that will come when the future is a bit more clear. But at the moment, I don’t think they [Gold and Sullivan] want to sell either, so there’s almost no point them being there in some ways – the offer – if they’re not going to sell anyhow.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what was said, it seems that while people are possibly trying to drum up interest behind the scenes, there is nothing concrete.

In your opinion, do you believe there is anything in the pipeline for a takeover of the Hammers?

No, just a pipedream

However, if what the Daily Mail stated is to be believed, there are certainly interested parties that are eyeing a move to purchase the Hammers.
