According to recent reports, West Ham manager David Moyes does not trust either of Albian Ajeti or Xande Silva to feature for West Ham in what is quickly becoming a desperate relegation battle.

According to the report by Football.london, Moyes believes that Michail Antonio – who is a winger by trade – has been the best option to lead the Hammers frontline, with the 30-year-old starting up front in both of the club’s fixtures since the return of Premier League football.

To start this quiz on Mark Noble with a tough one, in what year did the midfielder make his league debut for the Hammers?

However, the report goes on to state that this is not necessarily down to the fact that Moyes believes Antonio could go on to make the role his own in Sebastian Haller’s absence, but more because of the fact that he does not trust either of Albian Ajeti or Xande Silva to produce the goals that would help ease West Ham’s relegation worries.

TIF Thoughts…

It is somewhat difficult to make a judgement as to whether Ajeti or Silva could indeed have an impact on West Ham’s season, as both have played such little first-team football.

Ajeti has been given just 126 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League since his £7.83m move from FC Basel last summer, while Silva, who has largely spent his limited game time in the youth side, has featured even less often, appearing on the bench in their two most recent fixtures without making an appearance.

Do you think Moyes should give Ajeti or Silva a run in the side?

As such, we feel it is slightly harsh of Moyes to not trust the two players after having such a little amount of time to prove themselves, and with the Hammers seemingly in freefall at present having lost their last two fixtures, something needs to change sooner rather than later if 17th-placed West Ham are to ensure of their Premier League survival this season.
