West Ham United have reportedly set their sights on signing Brentford’s left-winger Said Benrahma alongside a number of Premier League clubs, which include – Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester City and Aston Villa.

According to Foot Mercato, the Hammers are one of several top-flight outfits that are interested in acquiring the services of the Championship ace.

As stated in the report, there are at least five Premier League clubs which have been touted to be circling for the 24-year-old Algerian.

Those listed in the article are Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and David Moyes’ outfit.

However, it may be difficult for the London club to secure Benrahma’s services from the Bees as the Championship club’s manager has ruled out any unwanted departures.

According to the Daily Mail, Thomas Frank has stated that “no player will leave Brentford yet” as they all “feel good” with the Bees.

TiF Thoughts…

Benrahma currently has a market value of £9.45 million according to Transfermarkt, however, it seems that any actual deal may prove much more costly than that due to Frank’s statement.

The Algerian winger’s statistics, though, may suggest that the 24-year-old may be worth any potentially large outlay.

In the Championship this season, Benrahma has been the best-performing player for the Bees with a stellar 7.4/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

While it has been in the division below, this rating outweighs that of West Ham’s best performing winger Felipe Anderson, who has a 7.07/10 in the Premier League (per WhoScored).

Furthermore, the Championship man far outweighs the Brazilian in terms of key offensive statistics.

This season, Benrahma has taken 3.7 shots, made 2.2 key passes and performed 3.1 dribbles per league game on average (per WhoScored), whereas Anderson has taken 1.0 shots, made 1.1 key passes and performed 2.8 dribbles per game (per WhoScored).

So, if the Irons can strike up any kind of deal for the Algerian winger, it would seem to be a no-brainer.
