Image for West Ham United: Fans flock to club’s image of Declan Rice

Supporters of West Ham United have been flocking to an image of Declan Rice which was posted to social media by the Hammers.

On Tuesday, the Irons relayed an image to social media of their English midfielder which had been taken during training (per West Ham).

In the image of the 21-year-old middleman, Rice was flexing his arms and the club posted the comment: ‘No flexing zone’ with the word ‘no’ crossed out.

Various outlets have reported recently that Rice may be on his way out of the London Stadium in the next transfer window due to possible financial difficulties.

It has been reported by the Sun that the 21-year-old would be ‘up for grabs’ in the next window as interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea was touted.

The Telegraph, too, has reported along similar lines on Rice and stated that David Moyes’ side may be ‘forced’ into selling the Englishman due to the financial implications the current viral outbreak.

However, Claret and Hugh offered an alternate angle following the two reports as they looked to douse any transfer rumours in cold water by suggesting that the club has no interest in selling Rice.

Following the Hammers’ tweet which contained an image of the player, though, lots of West Ham fans had reactions to air.

This season, Rice has been the Hammers’ fourth-best performer in the Premier League with an impressive 6.95/10 average rating across 29 appearances (per WhoScored).

However, supporters continued to mention Rice’s haircut following the club’s Twitter post with an image of the midfielder in training.

As can be seen in these responses from West Ham supporters, the London Stadium faithful are clearly more interested in Rice’s haircut than any recent transfer rumours.
