West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna is reportedly fit and ready to play in the Hammers’ upcoming Premier League clash against fellow London club Chelsea in midweek.
This comes after @ExWHUemployee (via @WHUFCFZ) shared a post on his Twitter page answering a question from someone asking if there were any updates on Ogbonna’s fitness in the run-up to the Chelsea game.
The Hammers insider then answered this question revealing that the defender is “available for selection” for the upcoming match.
The Italian first signed for West Ham back in 2015 from Juventus for a fee of £9.9 million. Since then, the 32-year-old has gone on to make 152 appearances for the Hammers in which he has managed to score nine goals and provide one assist along the way (per Transfermarkt).
This season has seen the defender make 24 appearances for David Moyes’ side in the Premier League.
His last appearance in the Premier League for West Ham came back in March during their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. Since then, Ogbonna has not played a minute of action for the club during their two previous Premier League matches (per Transfermarkt).
Ogbonna’s performances this season have earned him a rating of 6.69/10, making him West Ham’s eighth-highest-rated player so far in this campaign (per WhoScored).
