Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Harry Kane during the North London club’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Friday evening.
The England striker struggled on his return to Premier League action, earning a disappointing 6.5/10 rating for his performance against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side (per WhoScored). It was the England captain’s first appearance for the Lilywhites since suffering a hamstring injury against Southampton on New Year’s Day, but he failed to have any real impact during Friday night’s game.
The 26-year-old had a disappointing pass success rate of just 60%, whilst only having one shot in the entire 90 minutes against the Red Devils (per WhoScored). The result leaves Spurs in eighth place in the top flight and arguably deals another blow to their fading top-four hopes.

Kane had an absolute stinker of a game, we need a backup striker and someone to challenge his spot #COYS #THFC

Absolute disgrace of a performance from Harry Kane, pathetic in every department

Get Kane off
This is embarrassing

Needed the 3 points, but we played too deep. Probably a fair result in the end, even though it was a very soft penalty. Lamela, Winks and Sanchez all had good games. Kane was well off the pace #COYS #THFC

Fans continued to criticise the England captain’s performance from Friday night’s game.
Pretty decent first half. Always looked dangerous on counter. Second half, we sat deep, invited pressure, and always looked like conceding. Not surprising only kept 4 clean sheets all season. Kane well off the pace. Lloris superb. Will take the point. Football #THFC #COYS

Really surprised that Harry Kane was on the field for the whole game. Looked very legally, not surprising to be fair. #COYS #THFC

Kane was a passenger for the whole 90 minutes. Feel like he was only out there to get match fitness and because we don’t have anyone else #THFC #COYS #TOTMNU

Some Spurs fans blamed the striker’s lack of fitness for his poor display.
Kane looked almost dead. Should’ve subbed him off.
Definitely needed our subs out there sooner. Bad pick, Jose. #THFC
— HurriKane (@Jazz9224) June 19, 2020
Jose using only two of a possible five subs seems like a problem to me… it’s why #THFC looked really leggy at the end. They weren’t that bad, but worrying is that Harry Kane was basically invisible.

Kane was awful. Did nothing all game. I hope it’s just temporary cuz we cannot get CL without his goals. It’s that simple.#THFC

Overall, it seems clear that these Spurs fans were certainly disappointed with Kane’s return to action and will be hoping for much better in the remaining games.
