Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some footage of Erik Lamela in training at Hotspur Way, ahead of Spurs’ re-opening Premier League fixture against Manchester United.
The club’s official Twitter account shared the footage of the Argentinian receiving a pass from Harry Kane in training before taking a shot, which has attracted the attention of plenty of Lilywhites supporters on social media. The former Roma man could perhaps be set for a start in Friday night’s game, with the winger scoring the Lilywhites’ only goal in their 2-1 friendly defeat against Norwich City last week (per Football.london).
For someone who has struggled so much with injuries in the past few years, this enforced break could perhaps be a blessing in disguise for the 28-year-old, as he will have presumably used his time off to get into top shape ahead of the remaining Premier League fixtures. However, it has been recently reported that Lamela will need to impress in Spurs’ nine remaining top-flight games, otherwise, he could be sold by Jose Mourinho in the summer transfer window in order to raise transfer funds (per Football Insider).

The footage of Lamela certainly seems to have split the Spurs fanbase, so it will be interesting to see how the Argentinian international performs in the remaining Premier League fixtures, and whether or not he will be trusted with a start against Mourinho’s old side on Friday evening.
