Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some footage of Steven Bergwijn scoring a goal in training at Hotspur Way.

The club shared the footage of the former PSV man comfortably dispatching past Hugo Lloris in a training exercise, with Jose Mourinho’s side preparing for their upcoming fixture against Manchester United. It was confirmed that the Premier League will be returning from its suspension later this month with the aim of completing all the remaining games.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Spurs signed Bergwijn in the January transfer window and the Dutchman marked his debut with a stunning volleyed goal in the 2-0 win against Manchester City (per BBC). However, after this game, his form dropped somewhat, with the 22-year-old averaging a 6.96 rating for his performances in the top-flight, having contributed two goals and zero assists in five appearances (per WhoScored).

The winger had looked to be ruled out for the season when he suffered an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw against Burnley in March, but it was recently confirmed by Mourinho that he will be fit for the restart.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the footage of Bergwijn can be seen in the tweets below.

Plenty of Spurs fans suggested that Bergwijn can be a big player for Mourinho in the remaining fixtures.

Other Spurs fans commented on Bergwijn’s pace, suggesting that he looks very quick in training.

Overall, it seems clear that these Spurs fans enjoyed the footage of Bergwijn in training and are looking forward to seeing the Dutch winger back in action. If he can start producing displays similar to the ones he produced in the Eredivisie earlier this season – where he averaged a 7.52 rating – then surely it would only be a matter of time before he establishes himself as a fan favourite at Spurs.
