On the latest episode of the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, TalkSPORT presenter Paul Hawksbee, Lee McQueen and Richard Cracknell discussed the latest goings-on at the north London club, looking back on the win against West Ham, and ahead to the Sheffield United fixture.

The recent episode, which was titled: ‘Lo Celso’s Magic‘, featured a variety of topics, including the performance of Moussa Sissoko in the 2-0 win against West Ham on Tuesday night. The Frenchman has played the full 90 minutes of both games since the return of the Premier League, despite having not played since January due to an injury.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

The former Newcastle United man impressed in his performance against the Hammers; earning a 7.35 rating for his display, which earned him a lot of praise on the podcast.

Here is what Sacks had to say about the 31-year-old:

“One guy that’s growing in fitness and, while his touches let him down at times, [is] Sissoko. He covered a hell of a lot of the pitch in possession, and out of it.

“Sissoko really has earnt this kind of respect with Spurs supporters, the way he’s turned his career around, and it’s great to see. He’s a player that does offer you so much, those surging runs through the midfield and another player that is so vital to the way Jose Mourinho wants to play.”

TIF Thoughts…

It seems fair to suggest that Sissoko has much improved during his time at Tottenham with last season and this season so far being easily his best in terms of average rating in the Premier League for Spurs (per WhoScored). Since signing from Newcastle in 2016, the French international has gone on to make 153 appearances for the Lilywhites; contributing four goals and 15 assists (per Transfermarkt).

Considering the midfielder has started both of Spurs’ games since the restart, you would imagine that he will be a key fixture in Mourinho’s side in the North London club’s remaining games, and hopefully, he will continue to impress.
