Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments from former Spurs full-back Kieran Trippier.
This comes after Spurs news Twitter account @TranSPURS shared a post on their page that contained a clip from a recent episode of The Beautiful Game Podcast in which the Englishman spoke about his departure from the London club.
In the clip, Trippier revealed that before he left Tottenham, he had conversations with Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy asking if he was in their plans after having an offer made to him by his current club Atletico Madrid.
Trippier claimed that he didn’t get a yes or no answer from either Pochettino or Levy on the matter.
The defender then added that he had heard from people he trusted that the club were trying to “offload” him and were offering him to other clubs.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were quick to share their thoughts on Trippier’s revelation.
Here’s a sample of Spurs fans responding to the post:
??????? Kieran Trippier on his departure from Tottenham:
“If I’m part of your plans, I’ll stay – He didn’t give me a yes, he didn’t give me a no.”

Selling Trips was a big mistake.

The 29-year-old spent four years at Tottenham before making the move to Atletico in last summer’s transfer window.
During those four years, Trippier made a total of 114 appearances for Tottenham in which he managed to score two goals and provide 24 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Why sell Trippier without having a proper replacement lined up? Spurs have the worst fullbacks of the top 6 clubs and the way the game is played now it’s costed us.

Did Spurs make a mistake letting Trippier leave?
Yes
No
Now that Trippier has shared this news concerning his departure from the club, this sparked a big reaction on Twitter with many Spurs fans sharing their thoughts on the matter.
However, there were some Spurs fans responding to the post who were not as positive towards Trippier as others were.
He was our worst player whole season

Dreadful last season

Cannot he still having having a dig at Spurs, making it obvious he had a big time feud with Poch.
— Mac (@Imabigmac) June 28, 2020
He was horrendous that year

As Trippier, who is valued at £25.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), explains it, it seems that he had a frustrating end to his Spurs career after failing to get clarification on his future at the club from Levy and Pochettino.
Looking at the replies from this group of Spurs fans, it appears that Trippier is a divisive figure with some Spurs fans regretting the decision made by the club to get rid of the Englishman, whereas others aren’t too fussed.
