Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been responding to a tweet that was recently posted by Spurs-focused podcast host Ricky Sacks, which relays some news concerning Spurs manager Jose Mourinho’s plans for the summer transfer window.

Sacks’ tweet shares some news that was recently revealed in an article from 90Min, which states that Mourinho has asked Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy ‘to try and sign up to five new players’ this summer. However, it goes on to say that as a result of Spurs’ finances being ‘strained’ at present, the north London club will be focusing on trying to secure loan deals and free-agent signings this summer.

The report from 90Min also says that Levy ‘is already sourcing both the loan and free-agent markets ahead of the transfer window and names Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez, Gareth Bale, Thiago Silva, Ryan Fraser and Willian as players who either could be options for Spurs this summer or who have already caught the Lilywhites’ attention.

After this news from 90Min was relayed on Twitter by Sacks, plenty of Tottenham supporters replied to his post to share their opinions on this news.

Some Spurs fans replied to this post to share that they don’t believe that their club could realistically sign most of these players, with some identifying Fraser, who will become a free agent at the end of this month, as the only one of these players who they could see joining their club.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

The inclusion of Alexis Sanchez’s name in this list of potential Spurs targets drew a reaction from some fans, with one Spurs supporter going so far as to say that signing the former Arsenal man would make them question being a Tottenham supporter.

These Spurs fans don’t seem to be particularly excited by the names that were included in 90Min’s recent report, but it may be difficult for the club to secure many high-profile players this summer.

Earlier this year, Mourinho shared that he would like to win another Premier League title, however, with his Spurs side currently sitting in seventh place in the league table, it may be understandable why this report claims that he has asked Levy to try and sign ‘up to five new players’ for next season.

However, reports have claimed that the current viral outbreak is set to have a significant impact on football’s transfer market and with that in mind, it may be understandable if Spurs are being forced to focus their attention on the free-agent and loan markets for the upcoming summer transfer window, even if that limits their options.
