Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the club’s post on Troy Parrott, which revealed that the 18-year-old has undergone surgery to remove his appendix.
The club shared a link to their website, where it was confirmed that the academy graduate will return to training later in June after a period of rehabilitation. The Republic of Ireland international has made just one start this season, in the League Cup defeat against League Two Colchester United back in September of last year.
During the tenure of Jose Mourinho, the young striker has been limited to two substitute appearances in the Premier League, although he also made an appearance in extra-time against Norwich City in the FA Cup. Unfortunately for the 18-year-old, Tim Krul saved his penalty during that shootout defeat, which led to Mourinho reminding fans that he was not ready to regularly feature in the first team.
Do you think Parrott will make another appearance this season?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the club’s update on Parrott can be seen in the tweets below.
Poor guy can’t get a break. I’m sure he would have featured with so many games in a short space of time

Other Spurs fans cursed their luck, seemingly making reference to the injury problems the Lilywhites have faced throughout the season.

A lot of Spurs fans simply wanted to pass on their good wishes to the young striker, and will no doubt be hoping that he can make another appearance before the end of the season.
Safe recovery Troy

Hopefully for Spurs fans Parrott will be back fit as soon as possible, although, with Mourinho recently confirming that he now has a fully fit squad available to him, it is perhaps unlikely that we will see much of the Irish youngster in the remaining Premier League fixtures.
