Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest transfer rumour linking their club with a move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
According to Il Mattino (via Ricky Sacks), the Lilywhites are named as one of the clubs showing an interest in the centre-back this summer. The Senegalese defender has been tipped for a move away from the Serie A side this season, but it looks as if Spurs will face competition from the likes of Liverpool for his signature.
So far this season, the Senegalese international has disappointed in his performances in the Italian top flight; he has averaged a 6.78/10 rating across his 15 appearances (per WhoScored). However, his performances in the Champions League have been much more impressive, with the 28-year-old averaging a 7.43 rating in that competition, suggesting that he would be a top signing for Spurs if he were able to regularly produce that form in the English top flight.
The former Genk defender is currently valued at £50.4 million by Transfermarkt, suggesting it would be a huge signing for Spurs if they were able to convince him to make the move to North London this summer. However, with it having been previously reported that the Lilywhites will be reliant on free transfers and swap deals in the summer transfer window, a move for the centre-back perhaps seems unlikely at this moment in time.
Is Koulibaly a realistic option for Spurs this summer?

Other Spurs fans suggested that while he might be a great signing, it is perhaps unrealistic to hope that he would sign for the North London club this summer.
GREAT SIGNING BUT WONT HAPPEN TOO DEAR FOR LEVY

Would be great signing… but don’t believe

Unless he is available on a free or in a straight swap for Michel Vorm I’m gonna guess this won’t happen.

One fan suggested that he would be a better option than Stefan Savic, who the club have also been linked with in recent weeks.
Better than Savic..

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans would love to see their club sign Koulibaly, but just don’t feel that it is a realistic option for them this summer.
