Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that both Michel Vorm and Jan Vertonghen have had their contracts extended until the end of the Premier League season.
The duo both look likely to leave, with their existing deals having previously been set to run out later this month, however, due to the season being extended until July, both have been given extensions (per Tottenham Hotspur). The north London club shared this news on Twitter, which has subsequently attracted the attention of a lot of Lilywhites supporters.
The majority of Spurs fans seem to focus on Vertonghen in their replies, which is perhaps unsurprising when you consider that the Belgian defender has made 311 appearances for the Lilywhites since signing from Ajax in 2012. Although his performances this season have arguably not matched the standards of the previous campaigns, it still seems as if a lot of fans are relieved that the 33-year-old will be available for all of Spurs’ remaining Premier League fixtures.
Are you delighted that Vertonghen is set to stay until the end of the season?

Some Spurs fans suggested that they hope to see the defender play in a testimonial for the club in the near future.
This is great but I’m sad Jan will play his last game for us without fans there. I hope he’ll get a testimonial – he deserves one!#COYS
