Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some old footage and quotes from Gedson Fernandes on what it was like to sign for the Lilywhites.

LastWordonSpurs shared the footage of the Portuguese midfielder upon his arrival at the club, after it was originally shared by the club’s official Twitter account, showing the loanee answering questions whilst at Hotspur Way. In the interview, the 21-year-old spoke about what it is like to sign for Spurs, saying:

“I’m very happy. For me, it’s one big dream to come to this big club. I will try to give my best for the club every day, in every training session and in every game.”

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Spurs signed the youngster from Benfica in the January transfer window on an 18-month loan deal, although they do have the option to make the transfer permanent (per BBC). Since joining, Fernandes has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League; averaging a disappointing 6.21 rating (per WhoScored).

Jose Mourinho now has a fully fit squad available to him, apart from Troy Parrott who has been ruled out after having his appendix removed, ahead of the Premier League restart later this month. So you would perhaps expect the Portuguese midfielder to feature slightly more regularly, as the fixtures will no doubt come thick and fast for the Lilywhites.

Do you think Fernandes will feature regularly in the remaining fixtures?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the old footage of Fernandes’ first interview after signing on loan can be seen in the tweets below.

Other Spurs fans suggested that they have high hopes for the 21-year-old and his future with the club.

One fan decided to criticise the youngster’s penalty against Norwich City in the FA Cup, with the Portuguese midfielder’s tame effort easily saved by Tim Krul to see the Canaries through to the next round (per BBC).

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans have high hopes for the 21-year-old and will be hoping to see more of him when the season resumes.
