Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard after it was suggested that the North London club have regularly scouted the French striker.
According to The Times (via Ricky Sacks), Tottenham Hotspur have regularly had scouts in attendance to watch the forward ahead of a possible move for the player in future transfer windows. The report from the Times suggests that Spurs see him as a potential replacement or reserve for Harry Kane.
The 22-year-old contributed a superb 21 goals and 12 assists in 27 appearances (per Transfermarkt) in the recently abandoned Scottish top flight during the 2019/20 season, so it is no surprise that he is attracting attention from the Premier League. Spurs were without a senior striker in their side for a significant period earlier in the season, after the long-term injury suffered by Harry Kane, so signing a back-up or replacement for the England captain looks to be a sensible option for the North London club this summer.
Would Edouard be a good signing for Spurs?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Edouard can be seen in the tweets below.
I always make sure to watch Celtic’s games at some stage during the week. Edouard is different class. He still has a bit to learn, my worry is that he finds it a bit of a cakewalk at times in the SPL. He’s a big talent. The perfect signing for us in the ST position imo.

Plenty of Spurs fans continued to air their opinions on the French striker, with many comparing him to Moussa Dembele, who is impressing with Lyon after completing a move from Celtic back in 2018.
Anyone saying he’s not good enough? Look at Dembele smashing it for Lyon

Nah he will be next mousa dembele, we will bottle the chance to sign him

Would be a great signing and achievable, but in reality we’ll pass up the offer and then be linked again when he’s 50/60mil like Moussa dembele

Other Spurs fans were less convinced about the potential signing, however.
Hahahahaha competition for kane.

Overall, it seems as if plenty of Spurs fans would welcome a move for Edouard this summer, so it will be interesting to see if the Lilywhites make an official approach for the £12.15 million rated man.
