How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

One such topic was Jack Clarke.

The 19-year-old was signed by Spurs last summer from Leeds United and loaned back to the Whites but only managed to make a single Championship appearance before Tottenham recalled him in December.

Clarke was then loaned out to QPR, and he has only managed five appearances for Mark Warburton’s side, this got Miller talking about Clarke.

Here is what he had to say about the young winger.

“So, Mauricio Pochettino oversaw the signing of Jack Clarke and then immediately loaned him out to his mate [Marcelo] Bielsa, at Leeds.

“The problem with that loan move is that when Jack Clarke is no longer Leeds’ player, the inclination to actually use him just isn’t there.

“So, he quickly got recalled, it wasn’t working out, and he ended up going to QPR, where again, he’s barely played.

“What they should’ve done, in hindsight, is send him to a League One club and got him 20-odd games of League One football which would’ve stood him in really good stead for either a Championship or lower-Prem loan.

“But, as ever, Spurs mess up the loan, and it’s not looking great for Clarke.”

Therefore, it seems that Miller feels as if Spurs have handled the Clarke situation poorly.

TIF Thoughts…

The 19-year-old burst onto the scene for Leeds in the 2018/19 season when he scored two goals and provided two assists for the Whites in the league.

However, this season has not gone to plan, and for both QPR and Leeds in all competitions, Clarke has played just 276 minutes.

It seems as if Spurs will have to sort out a better loan for Clarke next year.
