Tottenham Hotspur-focused Twitter account @HotspurRelated recently posted a tweet sharing the alleged news that Spurs manager Jose Mourinho “has requested” that Tottenham’s board look into the possibility of bringing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma to the North London club.

This tweet from @HotspurRelated cites French publication RMC Sport as the original source of this news. An article that was recently published by Sport Witness explains that RMC has revealed that Zouma, who is currently valued at £25.2m according to Transfermarkt, “is on a list” of desired transfer targets that have been presented to Spurs’ hierarchy by the Portuguese coach. Sport Witness goes on to clarify that Tottenham haven’t made an official offer for the French centre-back yet.

After this alleged news was shared on Twitter by @HotspurRelated, plenty of Spurs supporters responded to this tweet to share their thoughts on this development.

Many of the Tottenham fans who replied to this post shared a negative reaction to the idea of their club making a move for Zouma, with one Spurs fan declaring that the 25-year-old centre-back is a “walking disaster waiting to happen”.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

Do you want to see Kurt Zouma in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt next season?

YES, DEFINITELY

However, not all of the responses to this post were negative. Some Tottenham fans were more positive about the idea of their club potentially signing Zouma, with one Spurs fan stating that the 25-year-old is “like Toby Alderweireld”, in their view.

As per Transfermarkt, Mourinho is the manager who was in charge of Chelsea when the club signed Zouma from Saint-Etienne back in 2014. With that in mind, it may be fair to say that Mourinho has shown an interest in the defender before and it might not come as a surprise if he does indeed have his name on a list of desired transfer targets ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
