How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

It is claimed that Mitchell has drawn comparisons with Aaron Wan-Bissaka because he is quick, energetic, and happy with both defending and supporting his team offensively, with the report suggesting the styles of the two players are ‘similar’.

The piece claims that Mitchell was injured earlier in the season, but since returning to training, he has worked hard and impressed members of Palace’s backroom staff, and that his displays for the Under-23s have piqued the interest of Spurs.

Here’s what was stated:

‘Since his return to fitness he has worked hard and impressed the first-team management with his attitude, while also fully integrating into the dressing room. He is particularly well thought of by Gary Issott, the Palace academy director. Impressive performances with the under-23 side have piqued the interest of Tottenham in particular, with whom Mitchell had previously trialled. Watford’s Hayden Mullins is another who is believed to have kept a close eye on him when he was in charge of the club’s under-23 side.’

TIF Thoughts…

Mitchell has not yet made his first-team debut for the Eagles, but with a larger matchday squad available to Roy Hodgson for the remainder of the season, perhaps the 20-year-old will be afforded some game time.

Tottenham have Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon currently in the first-team squad as left-backs, although both Sessegnon and Davies have struggled with injuries this season and Danny Rose is set to be sold for just £5m this summer – so maybe a move for Mitchell would provide Jose Mourinho with some depth at left-back.

However, he seems to be highly rated at Palace, and signed a new contract in January last year, though he may not cost that much, considering Transfermarkt has no value for him – so maybe Tottenham will make a move for someone who is very much an unknown quantity.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs do make a move for Mitchell or if he continues his development at Selhurst Park.
