Steve Wraith has offered his opinion on a new takeover report from the Daily Telegraph concerning a leaked letter sent to Hatice Cengiz.
The letter from Premier League chief executive Richard Masters states that the PL is ‘extremely sympathetic’ to her situation, but they cannot provide any details or meet with her.
This caused Wraith to tweet, and he claimed that this is a leaked private letter that we should not have seen and that it will not impact the proposed takeover.
Just catching up on last nights new leaked ‘letter’ story. My take on that is that of course sympathy will be shown to the ‘widow’ and rightly so. However this is a leaked private letter which we should not be seeing. It will not affect #nufctakeover #nufc

The letter does state that her issues with Newcastle’s proposed takeover will be ‘fully considered‘, but apart from that, no more detail is given.
Cengiz is the fiancée of murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and it is claimed that the Saudi state and Mohammed Bin Salman played a role in his murder.
Do you agree with Wraith on this?
Yes, nothing to worry about
No, this could cause a problem
Bin Salman is the head of PIF, the company who intend to take an 80% stake in the Toon in this proposed takeover.
This explains why Cengiz has called for the Premier League to block the Toon’s takeover and she even requested a meeting with the league.
TIF Thoughts…
Wraith seems to feel that this won’t have any impact on the Toon’s proposed takeover, but he has remained very positive throughout – as a quick look through his timeline will reveal.
However, he might be right because in the letter sent to Cengiz, no detail is given, and her request for a meeting is also rejected.
It remains to be seen what impact, if any, Cengiz’s objections will have on this deal that could see the end of Mike Ashley at Newcastle.
