Supporters of Newcastle United have been slating the performance of Danny Rose during the Toon’s 3-0 victory against Sheffield United.
On Sunday, Steve Bruce’s outfit cruised to three points against the Blades after goals from Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie and Joelinton (per BBC).
One player to feature for the full 90 minutes was on-loan full-back Rose.
For his role in the Premier League victory, Chronicle Live awarded the player a very respectable 7/10 performance rating.
However, after @NUFCblogcouk asked supporters how they felt the English defender performed against Chris Wilder’s side, some of them criticised the loanee.
Thoughts on Danny Rose today?#NUFC

hit and miss. Did a couple good things, and some dumb things. Probably his best game for us in the PL, which probably says more about his past games ?
Personally still prefer Willems.

Poor mans Willems

Rose a liability

Positives:
Look strong at the back.
Shelvey and Hayden playing well in the middle.
Fernandez having a blinder.Negatives:
Rose is overweight and uninterested.
Joelinton just abysmal, shocking.#NUFC— Belfast Magpie (@thebelfastmagp1) June 21, 2020
Danny Rose clearly doesn’t want to be there. Hasn’t got a decent pass in him, either. Poor. #NUFC

The victory against the Blades has left Newcastle 13th in the Premier League table and above the relegation zone by 11 points with eight games left to play (per BBC).
Bang average.

Offers very little going forward. Haven’t seen him have a good game yet for us

The Toon acquired the services of the 29-year-old left-back on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on the penultimate day of the January transfer window.
Since his arrival in the North East, Rose has made six league appearances for Bruce’s outfit and picked up an uninspiring 6.46/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
Were you disappointed in Danny Rose's performance against Sheffield United?Yes, not good enoughNo, he was solid |
Struggling badly in the 1st half

Gave the ball away too much and just hoofed it up front when under pressure. Did well for The 2nd. Possibly got too exposed by having ASM in front.

Some of the St. James’ Park faithful were slightly more complimentary of Rose’s performance against Sheffield United, though.
Reliable. Nothing spectacular, but did his job. He’s pretty decent defensively tbh

Good for first game back, misplaced a few passes but who didn’t at times.

However, as can be seen in most of these responses from Newcastle supporters, it seems that a lot were disappointed with the performance that the Englishman delivered.
