A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from their club that confirms the Toon’s match with West Ham United, originally scheduled for 2pm on 5th July, will now kick off 15 minutes later on the same day.
A link to the website is included in the tweet, but it does not provide any further information, which has many Newcastle fans speculating about what it could be about.

It’s another 2 weeks away won’t be anything to do with the takeover

The Toon are in the middle of a proposed takeover that would see Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium take Newcastle from Mike Ashley.
Do you think this means anything?
Yes
No
Still, they are currently awaiting Premier League approval after they paid Ashley a deposit in April.
However, there have been suggestions that the PL is close to making a decision after Saudi Arabia took steps to crack down on piracy.
As well as this, the state also sent a letter to major sports bodies accepting responsibility for stopping piracy, and these actions might have swayed the Premier League in favour of the takeover deal.
As a result of this, a decision is thought to be just days away, so if that is the case, this new kick-off time probably has nothing to do with the takeover, considering the match is still over a week away.
Toon fans continued to guess why this has happened, but it appears no one is sure.

Expecting crowd problems?

It is unclear why this has happened, but it has sparked some discussion amongst Newcastle fans, who are clearly keen to find out what this is about.
However, unless there is a further statement from the Toon, we might not find out why they have decided to change the kick-off time of this match against the Hammers at St. James’ Park.
