A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from the Evening Chronicle about Mike Ashley.
The report claims that the current Toon owner is growing ‘impatient’, and he is going to seek answers from the Premier League regarding the state of the proposed takeover.
Ashley is set to return to the United Kingdom and plans to speak to the PL about why the takeover process is taking so long.
This has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans, who actually agree with Ashley.
Do you agree with Ashley?
No, I have no sympathy for him
Yes, he deserves to know what is going on
For once I think we can all back Ashley here. Time for the Premier League to make their minds up.

Don’t blame the Man. I’m sure he’s as frustrated as we are. He wants rid of us and we want rid of him. Who would have thought we’d agree with him lol #NUFCTakeover #nufc

For once I agree with Ashley. We all need answers on what’s going on

The deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover has been with the Premier League since April after a deposit was paid to Ashley.
However, we are now in June, and we are no closer to a conclusion, with concerns over piracy and a link between the Saudi government and BeoutQ appearing to cause delays.
This situation might be annoying some Toon fans, but others are happy to see Ashley suffer.
He’s got a cheek, considering we haven’t heard a thing about season tickets

I can’t wait for him to be told “no comment” for a change.

Other Toon fans were annoyed at the Chronicle, because they feel that this was an easy story to go after.
Wow. That’s a major breakthrough. Mike Ashley wants to know what’s happening with the takeover. I thought he’d have a relaxed attitude. Returning “soon”? That’s like an even more open ended “imminent”, right? Same old same old Chronicle.

Source Chronicle, ignore ?

Ashley might be getting frustrated, but there is nothing he can do as he has exchanged all of the relevant paperwork and accepted a deposit.
Therefore, he will have to wait for the Premier League to reach a decision like the rest of us.
It is unclear when this could be, considering PL chief executive Richard Masters confirmed in an interview with Sky Sports that there was no timescale for this process.
However, The Athletic’s George Caulkin, speaking on the latest Pod On The Tyne, believes that the deal is now at its ‘final stage’. (3:54)
Hopefully, for the sake of Newcastle fans, he is right, and this saga can finally be brought to an end.
