A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from NUFC 360, which relays news from the Daily Telegraph regarding the Toon’s proposed takeover.
The piece by Tom Morgan claims that sources close to the deal believe that Newcastle’s match with Manchester City in the Premier League could be the first game of the new regime with the piece stating that the Premier League are waiting for a few more days.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who do not believe that the takeover will be approved in the coming days.
Do you believe this report?
No, it is just the same stuff repeated
Yes, it is edging closer
This is great apart from
1. Subject to
2. Pending
3. Coming days.
Frankly I could have written this for what it’s worth…— David Short (@davidshort63) June 28, 2020
I’ve been a firm believer in this takeover for 3 months … but I’m wavering, waiting for the ‘time wasters’ press conference ?

The deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium to take Newcastle from Mike Ashley has been with the Premier League since April after a deposit was paid to Ashley.
However, since then, there has been no announcement and this latest claim has clearly annoyed these Toon fans.
However, others are more annoyed with the Premier League for taking so long.
The Premier League have handled this so badly. Once it had leaked they should have published a timetable for the process and set a decision date. It’s been totally opaque and shown their organisation is ad hoc and full of leaks.

There were claims that the Premier League would finally make a decision last week after Saudi Arabia had announced a crackdown on piracy in the country, and the UK government had apparently swayed the Premier League into accepting the deal, but nothing happened.
The takeover has faced many issues over piracy, and it was thought that with Saudi Arabia announcing a full crackdown, they would see their takeover passed by the Premier League.
However, that did not happen and now this report claims that a decision will be reached in the coming days.
We will have to see what happens, but it is clear many Newcastle fans don’t believe this piece.
