A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed information from The Times regarding BeIN Sports.

Nice easy one to start off with, which club did Newcastle United sign Shearer from in 1996?

The Times claims that BeIN Sports have submitted a QC’s opinion to the Premier League, which states that the league should fail the proposed takeover of Newcastle because another potential owner is waiting.

The piece goes on to state that BeIN’s legal expert Stephen Nathan thinks that should the Premier League allow this takeover, the Saudi Arabian government would become a shadow director of the Toon.

Are you annoyed by this from beIN?

Yes, they are just getting ridiculous now

No, clearly just a last roll of the dice

This post has attracted the attention of many Newcastle fans who cannot believe the lengths BeIN are going to stop this takeover from happening.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are involved in geopolitical conflict, and it seems that Qatar are determined to stop the Saudis from taking over the Toon.

BeIN submitted a letter to the Premier League in April asking them to block Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed takeover, and after a report from the WTO was made public, beIN continued to express their opinion that this takeover should not happen.

They have now brought the Premier League to the attention of another bidder. He is Henry Mauriss, and he has submitted an offer of £350m to take Newcastle from Mike Ashley.

However, this latest move by beIN has clearly annoyed these Toon fans.

It has been suggested that for the Premier League to allow the Toon’s proposed takeover to go through, they could have to make some concessions.

These could include shutting down BeoutQ and unblocking BeIN Sports.

A report from Bloomberg suggested that these concessions might have already begun with some Saudi cafes showing BeIN Sports.

However, despite this, it still seems as if BeIN are determined to stop this takeover – so it will be interesting to see what the Premier League decide to do.
