To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

Burt claims that this long and drawn out saga is cruel on Newcastle fans who are waiting to hear if Mike Ashley’s time in charge of the club will be over.

The deal for Ashley to sell the club to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium has been with the Premier League for a while now after a deposit was paid to Ashley.

Richard Masters recently claimed in an interview with Sky Sports that there is no timescale for this takeover, and this has clearly annoyed these Toon fans, while Burt feels the whole situation is cruel.

Do you think this whole process is cruel?

Yes, it is unfair

No, it is just how long the process takes

Burt claims in his piece that sources from both sides of the deal suggested that the deal was done at various points, but because this has to be a legally watertight decision, the Premier League are taking their time.

The whole saga, though, appears to have bored these Toon fans, who have had enough.

Understandably, many Newcastle fans are losing patience after a deal was agreed with Ashley in April.

The Premier League, though, have taken their time, and they have allowed the whole thing to play out in public, which, as Burt points out, is cruel on Toon fans.

However, despite this long dragged out scenario, many Newcastle fans still remain confident about the takeover happening.

The buying side hopes that now Project Restart is sorted, the league will be able to turn their attention to deciding on the Toon’s proposed takeover.

There are claims that the buying side are frustrated with the process, and many Toon fans are also clearly annoyed.

Hopefully, there is not too much longer to wait before the Premier League finally make a decision on the matter.
