Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports regarding season ticket refunds to fans that will not be able to attend the club’s remaining fixtures of the season.
With the Premier League season set to resume behind closed doors from 17 June, Newcastle are still to inform their fans who have season tickets with the club whether or not they will be receiving refunds for the matches that they are unable to attend.
A BBC Sport report, which was posted by BBC North East and Cumbria on Twitter, stated that Newcastle United have been accused of a “dereliction of duty” towards their supporters after not communicating season ticket plans.
The Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust made these comments in a letter recently sent to Toon managing director Lee Charnley – and was also highlighted in a report by the Chronicle earlier this week.
In reaction to the BBC publishing its own report on the matter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say, with many stating that they are glad there appears to be a growing amount of pressure coming from multiple areas of the media on the club’s handling of this particular issue.
@premierleague all eyes on you and @NUFC ?
Decision time.

Although the fact Newcastle are currently in the middle of a takeover bid could well have some bearing on the club’s lack of communication with fans regarding their refunds of season tickets, it could be argued that it would not take much for the club to make a statement to fans in order to clarify the issue.
Are you confident the takeover will be approved by the Premier League?
Yes
No
However, it would appear that the Newcastle fans have become used to this kind of treatment from the club, with many more sharing their outrage in their replies, as word of the letter to Charnley continued to circulate through the fanbase.
The club is never going to be able to sanction huge financial decisions like this whilst undergoing a takeover. Ashley is an abhorrent human being we all know that. But in this instance, our anger should be directed at the PL for taking over two months to complete the tests

Well the fact that Newcastle are refusing to comment on the (non-takeover related) of not refunding games or pausing tickets just shows the incompetence of the current regime…hopefully this may also put some pressure on the PL to say Yey or Nay

its shocking that nufc are the only club not to address the season ticket situation. the bloke is a joke.

Been about 13 years of dereliction

It would very much appear that Newcastle fans are hoping that their takeover happens in the very near future – firstly to resolve the issue surrounding ticket refunds, and secondly just to see the back of current owner Mike Ashley.
