Plenty of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Toon loanee Nabil Bentaleb.
Bentaleb, who joined Newcastle United on loan from Bundesliga side Schalke back in the January transfer window, shared an image of himself sitting down while wearing some recovery pump boots in his recent tweet. He also captioned this post with the words: “active recovery before the Premier League”.
The Toon are set to compete in their first Premier League game since the seventh of March this Sunday when they are scheduled to take on Sheffield United and after Bentaleb provided Newcastle supporters with some insight into his preparation ahead of this game via his recent tweet, some Magpies fans have been responding to the post.

Some Newcastle fans questioned Bentaleb’s use of the word ‘active’ to describe his preparation in response to this post, with one Toon fan sharing that they don’t believe there is anything active about what Bentaleb is doing in this image.

Other Newcastle supporters offered some humorous replies to this post, with some indicating that they think Bentaleb’s recovery pump boots resemble batting pads that a cricket player would wear.

While this may be an important part of the midfielder’s recovery and preparation ahead of Newcastle’s next Premier League game, he does appear to be quite relaxed in this image he has shared, so it might be understandable why some Toon fans replied to this post to question Bentaleb’s use of the word ‘active’ here.
