Henry Winter put out a tweet on Thursday evening relaying the latest news that he has regarding the Toon’s proposed takeover.

To kick things off, who is this man from the 2009/10 season?

Winter claims that money ‘talks loudest with the PL’ and that the ‘Saudis remain favourites’ to takeover Newcastle.

He also believes that the likes of Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers bring credibility to the bid.

However, he does mention another group who are watching the situation with ‘keen interest.’

This group is supposedly from the US and have had a long-term interest in the club.

Winter, though, is adamant that Newcastle fans deserve to find out a decision from the Premier League.

The deal for Newcastle to be sold to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium has been with the Premier League for a while after a deposit was paid to Mike Ashley.

However, Richard Masters confirmed in an interview with Sky Sports that there was no timescale for this takeover, which does not bode well for Winter asking for a decision for the Toon fans.

The American bid that Winter talks about in his tweet is probably relating to Henry Mauriss’ group, who are supposedly ready to come in should the Premier League reject Amanda Staveley’s bid.

TIF Thoughts…

Winter seems to sum up the situation quite well, and though there is a second bid on the table for the Toon, he still believes that the Amanda Staveley bid is in pole position.

However, Masters’ comments from his interview imply that this will take as long as it takes, and Newcastle fans might have a bit longer to wait before the Premier League finally reach a decision.
