Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin added his third Premier League goal of the season on Sunday during the 3-0 victory over Sheffield United at St. James’ Park.
The Frenchman opened the scoring for Steve Bruce’s men when he turned in Matt Ritchie’s cross at the far post on 55 minutes. The 23-year-old signed for the Toon in the summer from Nice in a deal reportedly worth £16.2m, and since his arrival, has been a key player for the Magpies, averaging an impressive performance rating of 7.23/10 (via WhoScored.com) – making him the club’s most consistent performer in the Premier League this season.
Saint-Maximin quoted a tweet by @TheMasterBucks in which there is an image of Sheffield United defender Enda Stevens losing his footing, clearing the way for the winger to steal in and finish the opportunity. In his response, the former French Under-21 international tweeted: ‘To be fair he was unlucky this time, but he’s definitely a great defender.’ Here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded.

Has Saint-Maximin been Newcastle United's player of the season?
Yes
No
These Newcastle fans were full of praise for the winger’s character as well as his performance on the pitch. One fan even claimed that the former Monaco man is worth double of what Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish would be worth in today’s transfer market.
ASM if Jack Grealish is worth 70m you are double that. ????

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Saint-Maximin is currently valued at £18m, though in our view, if he maintains the high standards he has set this season, we will soon see that rise.
